Moderation and Motivation

If you want to make progress in any area of your life, whether it be in a particular skill, virtue, or life path, I would suggest to practice both MODERATION and MOTIVATION.

Have you ever been really excited about something, gotten really involved in it, spending all your time and energy there, and then sizzled out and forgot about it after a short run?

I am definitely guilty of this behavior/mental pattern. I would suggest this.. which has worked relatively well for me.

Try NOT to do as much as you’d like to, so that you always leave yourself excited to do more! BUT… you have to stay MOTIVATED and (fairly) CONSISTENT. Work on this thing EVERY DAY, even if it’s LITERALLY for 2 minutes. If that’s all you can get yourself to do then just DO IT!

If you can’t do that then do 1 min. Or just 30 seconds. But just do something! Who knows, you might surprise yourself and be an overachiever.
