The PRACTICAL Application of Luke 6:41-42 and Matthew 7:3-4 : How to Really Live the Word of God and Get that Log Out of Your Own Eye!!

41 “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 42 “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye. [The Gospel of Luke 6:41-42]

AND…

3 “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. How can we apply Jesus’ (peace and blessings be upon him) teachings here in our own life, in a very practical, down-to-earth way? I think I’ve finally figured this own out! (God forgive me if I’m wrong)

The only way to do it is to focus ALL of your attention on improving yourself, so that there is none left for criticism or suggestion to other people on how they can improve. Even if such suggestions come from a good place, are 100% correct, and are delivered gently… if they ARE NOT ASKED FOR then do people ever really take them to heart? Maybe sometimes, but the truth is that if somebody doesn’t want to change… they wont.

But I hear you saying–But my husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, mom/dad, brother/sister need to hear this because they’re causing themselves and others needless suffering or acting unrighteously, etc. etc. This may be VERY TRUE… buuuut… so long as they can blame you for something, or say, well you’re not perfect either, or whatever excuse they use to justify their behavior to themselves, THEY WONT CHANGE.

Here’s what you can do! —-> Be so good and nice and blameless that they will have to realize that it’s NOT you who’s creating the problems and then they’ll see that it is them… or at least get off your case!

WARNING: They will subconsciously use all their tricks to get you to loose your cool and contribute to the problem. They will act OUTRAGIOUSLY to do so before they’ll consider themselves and their own actions. DON’T LET IT GET TO YOU and DON’T TAKE IT PERSONALLY. (it’s just the devil doing his best to ruin you both) If you can survive this onslaught and remain compassionate and calm, then you’ll grow in ways you never imagined possible.THIS IS YOUR TEST. Treat it as such, and expect it to be a tough test indeed.

Much love to you all and God bless.

P.S. – Feel free to vent about the ONE WHOSE DRIVING YOU CRAZY in the comments below! better you get it off your chest here so you can face them without that resentment in your heart. But remember to do it with compassion and understanding. Just because we (and they) don’t understand them doesn’t mean they don’t have REAL REASONS to act that way…. Better yet… VENT about how YOU drive other people crazy and keep an eye on the log in your own eye… Ah-ha! 🙂

LINK between the QURAN and the GOSPELS – revealed by my DOUBLE MIRACLE!!

I think I just figured it out! Here are the two quotes that have been buzzing around my head for a few days in my contemplation:

“Let the People of the Gospel judge by what God has revealed therein” (Quran 5:47)

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”” (John 14:6)

So Go revealed through Muhammad (pbuh) that the Christians are to judge Islam by what is written in the Gospels in particular (not necessarily including the Old Testament). This basically mean (and I think it’s implied in the Arabic) that the Gospel is not corrupted (even if it’s been changed or added to, it was not CORRUPTED. Those additions or commissions or changes could very well be the will of God).

So considering this, I turned to the Gospels and of course thought of the very famous John 14:6. So we cannot come to God except through Jesus (pbuh). For ME (what my heart tells me) is that that means through Jesus’s way and teachings.

As I thought about it this is the conclusion I came to. If you follow Islam you will be following God. You will act in a way that is appropriate, but not necessarily EXEMPLARY. For that we should turn to the teachings of Jesus, who above all prophets embodied Godly love most purely. The only issue that Islam has with Christianity is that Jesus is NOT God. I wanted to know what to make of this, since many Christians seem to have inferred from the Gospel otherwise.

I opened to a random section of the Gospel and FOUND MY ANSWER LIKE A MIRACLE! —- :O! OH WOW. I just had a DOUBLE MIRACLE! Just now, I was searching for the quote to copy/paste and I typed something accidentally! John 17, instead of 20:17. The passage I found was equally pertinent!! (praise and glory be to God!) Ok here they are:

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” (John 17)

17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (John 20:17)

What John 17 tells me is that Jesus and God are separate. God sent Jesus (as Jesus said) and so must be ABOVE Jesus in power/authority. And in my mind, God is what is above everything and so incredibly indescribable that even though Jesus is an incredible miracle (like an angel or the universe), he is still a creation and subject of the ALMIGHTY GOD.

What John 20:17 tells me is that YES, Jesus IS the son of God, BUT SO AM I! He says “my Father AND your Father, my God and your God.”

Thank you God for clarifying this for me.

And much love to all you people out there. if you have any doubts if the AFTERLIFE IS REAL. Please check out the videos in my last post. If you are sincerely searching for answers to your spiritual questions you might just find them there. I pray you do.

God Bless,

The (not so obvious) SOLUTION to ALL of the world’s PROBLEMS!

QUESTION YOURSELF.

I think the one main problem that people have in this world, from which every other problem stems, is that not enough people DEEPLY question themselves. Here is a scenario, and two possible lines of questioning. You must question until there are no more questions to get to the ROOT of a matter…

SCENARIO: Your friend betrayed you somehow and you want to get even by revealing a secret you swore to keep.

A self-questioning session might go like…

——————

Q: Why do I want to reveal this secret?

A: In order to get even?

Q: Why is it important to get even?

A: Because justice is important?

Q: How will this achieve justice?

A: Because then she will be less likely to do this kind of thing again.

Q: Will it really make her less likely to do it again?

A: No, it will probably just make her angry and want to retaliate.

Q: So why do it?

A: Because it will make me feel better!

Q: And why would it make you feel better?

(This is when things get tricky; you’re probing into the speculative processes of the subconscious and it’s difficult to know if the answers you come up with are the REAL answers, or are you subconsciously trying to avoid the root of the problem.)

A: Hmmm… i don’t know… I guess I want her to feel the way she made me feel.

Q: And why is that?

A: Because then I wont feel wronged.

Q: What does that feel like?

A: It feels angry and painful.

Q: And you don’t want to feel that way?

A: No, of course not.

Q: And you think that getting even will put an end to those feelings?

A: Maybe. It will at least help.

Q: And what about her feelings?

A: I don’t care about her feelings.

Q: Then why do you want her to feel bad? If you really didn’t care about her feelings, then why would her feelings effect you mood?

(I think around here is where most people would get exhausted and throw in the towel. That’s EXACTLY what your subconscious mind wants you to do so that it can continue to exist as it always has, with the same old beliefs.)

A: Hmm… I guess I do care about her feelings… And that’s why I’m so hurt that she doesn’t really care about mine… And I don’t want to care about her feelings anymore… so I’m trying to prove that to myself by performing an action that demonstrates that I don’t care about her feelings…

(Now, you’ve gotten to the real root of the problem, from which other feelings and possible actions are stemming. At this point my Questioning side, becomes the Caring side [in actuality they were always one in the same])

C: Yea, that feels pretty bad, huh? And those conflicting feelings must be driving you nuts.

A: Yup…

C: But is revenge really the solution?

A: No, probably not… And it’ll make me feel like less good of a person.

C: So what shall you do instead?

(From here there could be a hundred solutions, while before in the blindness of anger there could be only one. You could use any sort of hobby or interests therapeutically, or to distract yourself. You could talk to her about the issue. You could decide not to be friends with her anymore, but not out of anger. The mind is free to do one of the things it does best… be creative!)

——————

Many people just fall into the ways of thinking and behaving that they are expected to, or that everybody else does, and don’t question it very deeply. This is how oppressive self-perpetuating systems that are integral to any area that experiences sustained poverty. Most of the people there never question themselves deeply enough to decide if they accept or reject the things they were raised to believe. Their parents had a big family and so they will. But if they stopped to think deeply about it, they would likely come to the conclusion that it would be silly to try to raise many children in extreme poverty conditions. We as westerners like to ask WHY and wonder why they don’t do the same.

Now lets flip things around on us. Do westerners ever question our own beliefs. Actually, many of us do. That is one of the things about education, especially upper level education (college/university) where they actually treat you like an intelligent human being, by its very nature it FORCES YOU TO THINK. That’s why it’s so important. No offense but I guess what I’m trying to say is…

I think a lot of people don’t think deeply enough. And the biggest problem is that they think they do…

THE POWER OF BELIEF: How to TRAIN BELIEF and in doing so ACHIEVE THE IMPOSSIBLE!

Belief is an extremely powerful force. Perhaps the most powerful. GOD KNOWS THIS, which is why faith and belief are at the core of religion. God left clear signs in his books and creations, but they can easily be denied if you choose not to believe. This is intentional and is necessary as part of the free will that God has granted us. If there was indisputable proof and everyone knew they were DESTINED FOR ETERNAL HELL if they acted in certain ways, would we really have a choice to act in those ways (free will)? There is no indisputable proof, but SO IT IS WITH ALL THINGS IN LIFE. The thing is, God is real and this system is here by design.

The world we live in gives us free will to LIVE ANY LIFE WE BELIEVE WE LIVE. Our world is defined less by realities and more by our beliefs about those realities. If you have a child, your life experience will be completely different whether you believe it’s a BURDEN or it’s a BLESSING. This is true of everything. You believe you can stand up, so you do. If you sincerely didn’t believe you could stand up, then you wouldn’t. SCHIZOPHRENIA and such mental disorders are examples of a person’s beliefs allowing them to experience a TOTALLY DIFFERENT REALITY, but it would be ego-centric to assume that their realities are any less real than ours (in their minds, which define their reality).

I read a very long autobiographical account of a man who became a super-soldier for the government called “Project Superman” (google it). I believe it to be true because it is full of fascinating, vivid details, and a complex story, rich characters etc. But the grammar and syntax are terrible and it doesn’t appear to be created for any purpose except that expressed in the beginning of the report, so I don’t think the man’s am author. Either it was just an awesome creative writing project or it’s true (in which case the implications are staggering) or it was written with the intention of deception.

I DIGRESS.

The point is, the way he was able to perform superhuman feats was by the POWER OF HIS BELIEF. For example, he could crush a metal pipe in his hand by believing it was a banana. He could shoot the bulls-eye of a distant target in the same exact location by believing it was only a few feet away. He could tread in icy waters from hours because he believed it was a warm bath. IT WAS THE POWER OF HIS BELIEF THAT ALLOWED HIM TO ACHIEVE SUPERHUMAN ABILITY.

So, if we were to assume that humans are capable of such incredible feats, then why do we appear so much more feeble? Considering the immense POWER of BELIEF it seems reasonable to conclude that it is because we don’t believe we can do these things. Human limitations have been ingrained in us since we first emerged from the womb. And to some degree there are limitations. We cannot fly because there are other laws like gravity that the law of belief cannot simply negate. (Or alternatively perhaps the law of belief, given enough power, can negate such fundamental laws!) There is a native tribe somewhere that requires that for a boy to become a man, he must be able to jump his own vertical height. (This is from a book called Manthropology) This seems nearly impossible, but everyone in the tribe does it, and so there is an inherit belief that it can be done. Therefore, it is done and it is considered normal to them. This is an example of the power of belief.

The difficulty is that for this power of belief to work, the belief must be sincere, not just consciously but all the way down into your subconscious. Your subconscious has experienced too much gravity to probably ever be convinced it’s not real, but perhaps this wasn’t always the case. Back in ancient Egyptian times could the priests have controlled the commoners (or their own) beliefs to convince them that they had attributes of super strength to move these giant stones? Could they possibly even have levitated through the combined power of collective belief? It might all just be CRAZY TALK, but we mustn’t be afraid to consider even the most outlandish possibilities!

OK, SO WHAT’S THE POINT OF ALL OF THIS!?

You can’t change your beliefs in an instant at first, but you can train belief. PRAYER IS AN ACT OF PRACTICING BELIEF. So is visualization and affirmations (which are proven to be highly effective in achieving your goals). PRACTICING ANYTHING really, is an act of belief. Each time you practice you believe that you’re getting better and better, and so you are. Try practicing without believing you’ll improve and you wont improve!

If you can believe something a little more unbelievable to you each day, you will work towards expanding your POSSIBILITY HORIZONS.
