… The problem is the sense of lack that often fuels the desire.
It is like a poison in the mind.

By my reckoning, satan’s two biggest/most successful lies are:
1) That he does not exist.
(This is one that most people have heard before…)
2) That religions are the cause, not the solution, to the world’s problems.
Radical acts and violence carried out in the name of religions and God are not God’s will for people and this is clear to anyone with half a conscience. If God wants to kill people it is easy for him to do so, so what makes people think they have the authority to judge their brothers and sisters?
How can we help people who believe these dangerous lies to see the error in these beliefs…?
There are two fundamental governing factors in our universe; even more fundamental than good or evil–as it defines good and evil.
These fundamental factors can be referred to as ORDER and CHAOS.
Order is anything in the world that has stability, that does not destroy itself.
Chaos is a state that cannot exist and so is destroyed until it reaches a state of order.
If something is in a state of chaos it is constantly changing–in essence it is searching for order and will find it, unless the chaos is purposefully perpetuated by and intelligent force (for the natural state of all things is order).
Natural Order is something that is somewhat strait-forward to grasp. It can be studied (observed) directly using scientific methods. Moral Order, however, has proven trickier to grasp, as it is seen by many to be more subjective.
This is where religions come in.
Part of the purpose of religion is to provide a moral framework from which we can base our decisions. Now, this has been used by the enemy in the creation of false religions that provide a moral framework that is NOT in line with Moral ORDER. (Just like Natural Order, Moral Order exists whether we attempt to adhere to/believe in it or not–just as not believing in gravity won’t cause you to fly.) This puts people in a state of Chaos, not or Order and Peace. False religions or extreme/perverted manifestations of true religions will always be characterized by chaos (that is, disharmony, contention/hatred, violence, etc.) because the moral/spiritual chaos that they live in will reflect in their physical lives.
Consider this in your quest for true knowledge and wisdom…
You can know the TRUE (order) from the FALSE (chaos)–even through their clever deception–by this method:
As Yeshua (Jesus) put it:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Mathew 7:15-20)
You know that book/movie “The Secret” that has been taking the world by storm…? Of course you do. They left out one extremely vital truth:
1) Aggregate Consciousness – The effect and power of a collective societies consciousness
There are only 2 basic impulses: LOVE and FEAR. In western society the aggregate consciousness leans heavily on the side of fear. Think news, wars, economy… Politics (Republicans are SCARED the Democrats will win and visa versa)… even Sales Advertising (You’re SCARED you’ll miss the deal)
This presentation is a much watch for the above information, and the progression that each one of these impulses inevitably follows. The falls under the study of Natural Law. (This is not me by the way)
1) God gave us free will. If you knew God was real, then you’d also KNOW that if you don’t do certain things and do do certain things you’d be risking going to hell. If you knew that, then although you would technically have free will, you practically wouldn’t be free to make certain choices that would send you to hell because you’d be WAY too extremely terrified of that possibility to risk it… God is a God or Righteousness. Isn’t it more righteous to allow people to choose how to live their lives freely, then to threaten them with torture if they do certain things. Heaven and Hell are not punishments but choices that we make. When we die, our state at that time become our ETERNAL, UNCHANGING state. If we died having made the choice to create suffering in others and thus simultaneously create suffering in ourselves, then our eternal choice is for suffering. If we die in a state of choosing to foster peace and love, then we shall live eternally in that state. There are other prerequisites, like believing in God is a biggie 🙂 I digress…
2) He (God) does not love arrogance. God has given us plenty of information about him through the holy books He has inspired to spread across the Earth. From every big city to surprisingly isolated villages on south-east Asian islands, practically everyone has heard of God, or has that general concept in their belief systems somewhere if they haven’t. So the choice of rejecting God is a deliberate one. One has to thing “Naw, most of the world is crazy, dumb, or delusional to believe is something like that.” Is it really so far fetched to believe that when you die you will continue living in another form. Is it any more far fetch than to say that you came out of existence from nowhere and one day you will return to nowhere. It seems easier to believe because some people adopt the notion that only what they can see and hear is real. Yet we rely on unseen radio, microwaves, gravity, electricity, the list goes on. A clue perhaps? Isn’t it a little arrogant to think that you are capable of perceiving all the layers and forces that exist around and within us. You can’t even see your own face most of the time… I think that’s a humbling thought.
It’s hard for me to talk to people about God…
I think it’s because a lot of believers don’t take God as seriously a I do, and many of those who do ARE WAY TOO SERIOUS ABOUT IT. Now this might seem like a contradiction, but allow me to explain.
If you believe in God, the REAL God who created EVERYTHING and allowed every religion to exist and probably was the motivation behind at least a few, wouldn’t you want to know what He has to say? Not what people have to say about him (cause what to they know) or what you’d like to believe, but what HE ACTUALLY HAS TO SAY?
I sure do.
But a lot of religious people don’t take the time to really read their own religious scriptures. And so their whole conception of God is based on wishy-washy feelings, human logic (which is often just WRONG by the way, even if it makes sense – Spiritual vs. Temporal Wisdom), or what someone else told them (and by the way I am skeptical of priests, imams, etc. They are just men like us and so susceptible to flaw, confusion, and even corruption). I just have no interest in hearing these viewpoints, if they are not somehow scripturally based…
Then there are those who ACTUALLY READ THE SCRIPTURES, but more often than not (in my mind, and please correct me if I’m wrong) these people take life and the world TOO SERIOUSLY. In my opinion it is good to be serious about these things, but not to ACT serious. God also invented LAUGHTER, JOKES, and SILLINESS, and nowhere does make these things out to be a sin.
I shall pray that I find more like-minded people with while to share my love and fascination for God and all of his creations.
If you are one of these people, please leave a comment below so I know that I’m not alone!!
God bless 🙂
“…be warned: there is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body. When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is:fear God and keep His commands, because this [is for] all humanity. For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether good or evil.” Eccl 12:9-14 (HCSB)
This message goes out to the women. If you want men to act more whatever, start looking for that in men. These days women (seem to) care about money, power, and good looks, so this is what men strive for. If women made it clear that instead they were looking for GREAT CHARACTER then trust me men would begin to develop great character. Men will develop what is necessary to attract their mate, that is how we are programmed.
On a personal level, women should figure out what they NEED from a guy, versus what they want. Of course you WANT your man to be wealthy, powerful and good looking, but don’t you NEED him to be respectful, loving, and courteous? (Or whatever personality traits that YOU personally need in a life partner?) I got this tidbit of philosophy from the awesome comedian Dave Chapelle. Check out this clip from his standup which is both funny AND enlightening.
God’s going to give you what you want, because He’s cool like that.
If you want to be with Him, then so shall it be.
If you don’t want to be with Him, also shall it be.
But let me tell you something about God,
and then not being with God.
God is all the good things and feelings in the world, without a trace of the negative.
Not being with God is to be cut off from any trace of that.
No hope. For hope is good.
So when you choose your ETERNITY you’ve got to choose.
God or no God?
When someone has wronged you it if often VERY DIFFICULT to forgive. It is strange how we hold on to anger as if in vengeance against the other person. As if if we LET IT GO we would be conceding defeat to them. What an ABSURD notion! (this is one of THE DEVIL’S LIES)The one who SUFFERS MOST is you, and your SUFFERING is your DEFEAT.
You see? The TRUE VICTORY lies in never allowing yourself to be negatively effected. Every TRESPASS against you makes you STRONGER.
Here is how I learned to forgive:
